These hats are made of ocean recycled fleece (tehrefore the hats have an "organic" lable)
This fleece item is made out of recycled plastics, filtered from the oceans. Pollution of sea water with plastics, that fall apart into tiny particles, is a threat to the food chain all over the planet – even inflicting in human food supply. It is a good thing that pioneers have now started fishing the plastics from the oceans. The debris collected, is a raw material for new production. Synthetic fabrics like fleece, are made out of this plastic waste. A growing number of fleece items in the KIK-KID collection is from this ocean-cycle-fleece. In the 2016 collection, this also applies for the most iconic of KIK-KID hats, the Speedy.
KIK*KID the fashion lable from Amsterdam/Holland creates joyful and lively fashion for children. Designer Ineke Grovenstein knows what kind of clothing she would like to wear as a child. Therefore, she searches fabrics that are easy to wear, easy to wash and that stay beautiful for a long use.
